JOHN HELVIN art

John Helvin is happy to consider commissions for artwork. Please bear in mind that he does not attend exhibitions of his own work.

In the first instance, please contact John Helvin using the form provided on the 'Contact' page. Please include full details of the proposed project. You will receive an email in about 24 hours, letting you know his reply.

Because John Helvin usually works on commissions it is unusual to have any artwork available for sale. If a project simply requires the images for publication then the original artwork remains the property of Helvin and can be sold to the general public.

At the moment, we have no items open to bids.

MAGICIANS

This project was suggested by an Italian art collector. He was interested not only in Helvin's art but the unusual style of drawing used in Helvin's pen art. The series of portraits will include pen sketches, pencil sketches and paintings. Helvin was requested to video some of the sketches being drawn using time lapse photography. Some of the them were featured in an interview in the September 2009 issue of Magicseen magazine.

UPDATE: This project, begun in January 2009, was finished in March 2010. The images have been removed from this page but the exhibitors have commissioned their own website (still under construction) where exhibition details, images, etc can be found.

THE DEAD

The Dead is a project in which John Helvin provided illustrations for a selection of poetry. The poems include Anthem For Doomed Youth, Futility and Asleep by Wilfred Owen.
